Face shape detector: what is my face shape?
Upload one front-facing photo and this face shape detector maps your jaw, cheekbones and forehead right in your browser — then shows what suits it.

Strong and photogenic — broad forehead, defined angular jaw.
Hair
Soft layers, waves and side-swept styles round off a strong jaw; long lengths flatter.
Glasses
Round or oval frames soften the angles of a square face.
Makeup
Blush placed high and a soft contour at the jaw corners rounds the outline.
How the face shape detector works
Figuring out what is my face shape doesn't need a stylist or a guess in the mirror. This face shape detector reads your proportions the way a stylist would — just faster, and entirely on your own device, so nothing about your face is ever sent to a server.
Map, on your device
A client-side model finds 478 points across your eyes, nose, jaw and hairline. That map is what every face shape detector works from, and it never leaves your browser.
Measure the proportions
It compares forehead, cheekbone, jaw and face-length ratios to separate a round face from a square one, or an oval face from a heart.
Name it, plainly
No detector is certain from one photo. We name your closest shape, say when you sit between two, and give no beauty score or verdict.

Oval
The all-rounder — length a touch more than width, gently curved jaw.
Hair
Almost anything works — long layers, a lob, blunt bangs or a middle part all flatter an oval face shape.
Glasses
Wide range: square, round or cat-eye all balance an oval; go by personality, not correction.
Makeup
Light, even contour keeps things soft — you rarely need to reshape, just enhance.

Round
Soft and youthful — width and length close, full cheeks, curved jaw.
Hair
Long layers, side parts and volume up top lengthen a round face; skip blunt chin-length bobs.
Glasses
Angular frames — rectangle or geometric — add definition a round face loves.
Makeup
A soft contour under the cheekbones and along the jaw adds gentle structure.

Square
Strong and photogenic — broad forehead, defined angular jaw.
Hair
Soft layers, waves and side-swept styles round off a strong jaw; long lengths flatter.
Glasses
Round or oval frames soften the angles of a square face.
Makeup
Blush placed high and a soft contour at the jaw corners rounds the outline.

Heart
Wider up top — broad forehead tapering to a narrower chin.
Hair
Chin-length and longer cuts with volume near the jaw balance a heart face; side bangs soften a wide forehead.
Glasses
Bottom-heavy or round frames add width to the lower face.
Makeup
Contour the temples slightly and add blush low on the cheeks to balance.

Oblong — also searched as “Rectangle”
Long and elegant — noticeably longer than wide, straight sides.
Hair
Waves, curls and volume at the sides add width; blunt bangs shorten a long oblong face.
Glasses
Tall, oversized or decorative frames break up the length of an oblong face.
Makeup
Blush across the cheeks and a horizontal contour shorten and widen.

Diamond
Striking cheekbones — narrow forehead and jaw, widest at the cheeks.
Hair
Side-swept bangs and volume at the forehead and jaw balance wide cheeks; chin-length styles flatter.
Glasses
Cat-eye, oval or rimless frames highlight cheekbones without widening them.
Makeup
Blush on the apples and a light contour under the cheekbones keeps them elegant, not sharp.

Triangle — also searched as “Pear”
Wider up from the jaw — narrow forehead, broader jawline.
Hair
Volume and layers at the crown and temples widen the upper face; keep length off a wide jaw.
Glasses
Top-heavy or cat-eye frames draw the eye up and balance the jaw.
Makeup
Contour along the jaw and add highlight and blush higher to lift the focus.
Four shapes have a full styling guide of their own — the oval face shape, square face shape, oblong face shape and triangle face shape. Once you know yours, the AI hairstyle changer renders cuts for that shape on your own photo, and men can add a hair type read so the barber brief covers pattern as well as outline.
How to measure your face shape by hand
Measure forehead width temple to temple, cheekbones at their widest, jaw just above the corners, and length from hairline to chin. If length clearly beats width while the three widths stay close, you're oblong or rectangle. Similar width and length with a curved jaw points to round; an angular jaw points to square.
Widest at the forehead and tapering to the chin points to heart; widest at the jaw is triangle. Four close numbers with length just ahead is oval. It's the same ratio logic the face shape detector runs in a second on your device; the hand version swaps the camera for a tape.
The look-alikes a face shape detector must tell apart
These two pairs are where a face shape detector earns its keep, because a mirror cannot tell them apart.
Oblong vs rectangle
Oblong vs rectangle: same long shape, same styling — rectangle just reads with a squarer jaw. We show both because people search for each.
Triangle vs heart
Triangle vs heart: triangle is widest at the jaw and narrow at the forehead — heart is the reverse.
Face shape detector — questions answered
What is the most accurate face shape detector?
+–
The most accurate face shape detector is the one that measures your actual proportions. It maps 478 points and compares forehead, cheekbone, jaw and length ratios, like a stylist. Hair, camera angle and hidden hairlines can still blur the result.
Is this face shape detector free?
+–
Yes. Upload a photo and get your result today, free and without an account. Matching hair, glasses and makeup are included. Saving the deeper report needs an account, but the core face shape detector itself never sits behind a paywall.
Does the face shape detector upload my photo?
+–
No. Analysis happens inside your browser with an on-device model. Your photo is never uploaded, stored or shared. Close the tab and the image disappears with its mapped points; only a report you deliberately save to your account can remain. The one exception is opt-in: the “render a cut on this photo” step under the result sends a small square of the photo to our image model once, only when you tap it, and does not keep it.
What is my face shape if I'm between two?
+–
Faces often sit between categories. Use the label your jaw and forehead ratios favour, with notes from both. "Mostly oval, a little round" answers what is my face shape and is a completely normal answer the face shape detector will give you.
What's the difference between oblong and rectangle face shapes?
+–
Oblong and rectangle both describe a face longer than wide, with similar forehead, cheek and jaw widths. Rectangle simply means a more angular jawline. We show both labels because people search for each, but the same haircuts, glasses and makeup flatter both.
How is a triangle face shape different from a heart face shape?
+–
They are mirror images. A heart shape is widest at the forehead; triangle is widest at the jaw. If the face shape detector puts you between the two, go by where your face is widest: forehead means heart, jaw means triangle.
